SIG Mission Statement:
To collaborate with medical schools to
define competencies in specialty areas
Within the above mission, what specific objectives can best be accomplished
by collaborative efforts:
- Collaborate to define specialty-specific competencies
- Survey colleges for competency and clerkship requirements
- Survey specialty colleges to define competencies
- Develop a model for faculty development to be brought to specialty colleges
Specific Goals to be Accomplished:
- Develop a survey for colleges to learn who has competencies
- Survey colleges to see clerkship requirements and insure uniformity of
competencies
- Develop specialty college curriculum for academic support
Initial action steps to be taken:
- Contact other specialty colleges
