Harvard Macy Institute Programs
About the Institute:
The Harvard Macy Institute aims to create and foster a community of scholars who work to promote innovative change in medical education. The Institute is a collaborative effort of the Harvard Medical School, the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Harvard Business School.
Faculties from the three schools work together to design and implement two programs each year. The Program for Physician Educators targets mid-career physicians and basic scientist who have a strong interest in teaching and learning in the academic medicine environment but have no advance training in education. The Program for Leaders in Medical Education is designed for deans and other faculty members in academic institutions who are interested in learning more about techniques for promoting organization change.
Since its inception in 1994, the Institute has graduated over 900 physician educators. This group has developed into an international alumni community committed to a lively ongoing dialogue on medical education reform.
